7th season of EnergyNeighbourhoods is starting with a CSR prize

EN

ENERGISE partner GreenDependent has launched the 7th season of its household energy saving programme in Hungary. The EnergiaKözösségek (EnergyNeighbourhoods) campaign has been a great success and has been partly financed by E.ON Hungary for 5 years. The successful cooperation between E.ON and GreenDependent has recently received a corporate responsibility award in the category of "Responsible cooperation".

The aim of the EnergyNeighbourhoods programme is to inspire and encourage small communities of households to reduce their energy consumption through changes in their daily practices and behaviour. Some 8 to 12 households form a small community, the so-called Energy-Neighbourhood. Each group tries to achieve an energy saving of at least 9% within six months compared with consumption in the previous year. Each team is coached by a voluntary Energy Master - trained and supported by GreenDependent - who pulls the team together and provides incentives, motivation and advice.

The EnergyNeighbourhoods programme applies a variety of methods and tools such as DIY home energy audits, challenges, saving tips, an online energy consumption calculator, community events, etc.

Experience from earlier years' campaign also served as an example in the design of the ENERGISE Living Labs. Furthermore, Zsuzsanna Kotschy-Korpás, an expert representing E.ON, is a member of the ENERGISE Expert Panel.
