Charlotte Louise Jensen, Ph.D., is a post-doctoral researcher at Aalborg University (AAU) in Denmark. She has obtained a M.Sc. in innovation and environmental management from the Technical University (DTU) in Denmark, and holds a PhD in sociology of technology and consumption from AAU. Charlotte’s research explores links between consumption and production patterns, in terms of environmental and social implications, in order to understand dynamics of stability, change and (sustainability) intervention. Her PhD research explored the role of light in Denmark in terms of energy consumption, everyday life, household- and professional practices. Before enrolling in ENERGISE, Charlotte was engaged in a project critically exploring opportunities for circular economy and circular business models, in partnership with Danish companies.

Charlotte is keen on doing action-oriented research, and seeks to communicate and develop her research in multiple arenas of society. Charlotte has had several research exchanges to research institutions and universities in the UK and in France, and she has been invited to speak at numerous national and international workshops and conferences, academic as well as non-academic. Charlotte is co-founder of the early-career-researcher network ‘Practices, the Built Environment and Sustainability’ (PBES) that developed an internationally renowned Thinking Note Collection in 2014. She is also a Development Team member of the newly founded Knowledge-Action-Network of Systems of Sustainable Consumption and Production that aspires to officially become part of the global Future Earth Network. Charlotte is teaching and supervising on two study programs at AAU; Sustainable Design (BSc and MSc) and Techno-anthropology (BA).
