Laurence Godin is a sociologist specialized in sustainable consumption, health, and everyday life. She previously worked on a Swiss national research project on "healthy and sustainable diets", studying prescriptions and practices from a social practice perspective and engaging in inter- and transdisciplinary research. Her other research interests include emotion and morality in relation to (un)sustainable consumption practices, social norms, health, and the body. Her recent work includes an article published in the journal Appetite on food prescriptions and practices (with Marlyne Sahakian), as well as a book (in French) on eating disorders: Anorexie, boulimie et société. Penser des corps qui dérangent (Presses de l'Université du Québec).
